Tasks of spontaneous recognition are widely used to assess memory in rats and mice.Object recognition (OR) and object location (OL) are commonly assessed in this way – but standard tasks use just one trial a day and are therefore subject to a great deal of behavioural noise.
Previously we have shown that a continual trials approach to these tasks can reduce behavioural noise significantly and lead to improved reliability and reduced animal numbers
Having demonstrated the power of the continual trials approach in rats, this poster explains the aim of determining its power in mouse studies.
