# Analysis of US EPA TO-15 for Ambient Air Monitoring

Monitoring of chemicals in ambient air is necessary to determine their environmental effects. Despite the popularity of canister sampling, traditional canister preconcentration technologies are challenged by the ever-greater range of analytes and concentrations of interest, and by sampling location temperature and humidity. Dealing with high levels of humidity is particularly important, as the ingress of water to the analytical instrument can negatively impact analyte response, repeatability and can reduce the lifetime of the column and detector.
