There are many reasons why you might have to measure a sample a second time. A sample mix-up may have occurred, or something went wrong during the measurement. You might find out there is a problem only when a QC solution fails, or you check the results and notice something amiss.
No matter the reason, remeasuring samples, particularly for ICP-OES, is time consuming, stressful, and costly.
