The idea that a person’s immune system can fight cancerous cells was conceived over 100 years ago. Nobel prize-winning German physician and scientist, Paul Ehrlich suggested that the incidence of cancer would be significantly higher if it wasn’t for our immune system – bringing to light immune cells’ incredible ability to recognize, target, seek out, and destroy cancerous cells.
