In drug screening, conventional high-throughput applications evaluate only a few measurements and have limited breadth to detect diverse phenotypic changes caused by compound exposure.

Cell painting on the other hand is a phenotypic measuring tool that enables the study of multiparametric cellular biology at the cytoskeletal, plasma membrane, and organelle levels.
