When infected with a virus, host cells often display microscopically visible changes that are collectively referred to as a cytopathic effect (CPE). When viruses cause a CPE, it can be a useful tool for various research applications. Traditional CPE methods, including the plaque assay, are often labor-intensive and have difficulty in achieving high levels of accuracy and reproducibility.

Download this handbook to discover an alternative solution to traditional CPE assays for virology applications that can:

  • Track viral cytopathic effects continuously without the use of agar, dye, or fixative
  • Generate quantitative kinetics for the entire virus life cycle.
  • Greatly reduce work load and risk of error
